Frame Lantern Box

Hello,

Here goes another D.I.Y Project. I receive this idea from a YouTube video. When I first saw this fun project, the YouTuber did a video tutorial for different type of decorations for a baby shower, but she spray paint all the frames to make it look like a box and add letters on it. I love the idea for my sister baby shower. I went ahead and purchases the items from Dollar Tree, and Michaels. I couldn't wait to start and see the outcome. When I always go to Michaels, I come up with a lot of ideas and forget the reason why I am there (laughing). I didn't get the letters, but I did purchase the spray paint, glitter paint, and paint brushes. Now, first it was the idea for my sister baby shower, but I have months to prepare for that. I just want to test this project out! I change the idea to Frame Lantern instead of Frame Box. (I think that's the name for it). Here it goes!!!!

Materials:
  • 4x6 size photo frames - 4 frames
  • glue stick or E6000 glue
  • Krylon Short Cut Gloss Enamel spray paint - purple, light blue
  • Craft Smart Glitter Paint 2fl oz - champagne
  • 4 pack paint brush

First thing first, I plug in the hot glue gun.
I place paper underneath it so the glue won't get on the surface.

I remove everything out of the frame expect the glass, because I was gluing the frames first before painting them.

I use paint tape to cover the glass.

Started gluing the frames together as a box size.
Then I glue the inside corners of the frames so they can stay together.

Let it sit for about 2 minutes.

I didn't have newspapers at the time, so I use plastic bags to cover the surface so the paint won't get on anything.

I use the 2 different colors spray paint, purple and light blue.

Let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then spray paint it again.

After the paint had dry for about an hour, I brush the glitter champagne paint on all the frames to add some glitter to it.

Let it sit for about 30 minutes.

I let it sit overnight before I use it.
The next day I remove the paint tape, and my project was done.

Here it is.
It was a nice try.

I use some items that I had forever to had some style to the new project I did.
I use my a zebra round table (Bed Bath & Beyond I believe) along with a candle holder that I place fake grapes in it, candy dish where my key chain goes, and my bible.
The glass, I went to a sip and paint event and decorate the glass, that did came in handy for this, and add some jewelry around the glass that I really don't use as much, to bring more style to it.

I hope you enjoy and try it, it's fun!
